A Medium article gains its vote by way of claps.
It’s a great feature, indeed. However, when the thunderstorm strikes, when all the comic villains are let loose, when ants stop eating sugar, things might go weird and we may mistakenly clap for an article where we may not want to in the first place.
Alright! Your clap now sits there which you didn’t intend to give.
How to remove them?
By the first look, I couldn’t. That’s when I just hovered my mouse over it.
Et Voilà !
A tiny ‘x’ icon sneaks out from the left. Clicking that removed my claps.
That’s it.
Simple, not evident, but simple.
I won’t blame the programmers or the UX team at Medium – actually it’s less clumsy. It’s not there, but there.
Come on, who wants to remove claps that we’ve given? Anyway, if you wanted to, now you know how!
Note: Removing claps option only shows up after the end of the Medium article. The one on the sidebar can only take your claps, but won’t give back.
There is no mechanism to clap. I am a subscribed user.
